How to: Change table column width in Word 7.0.
Solution:
Select the column(s) to be changed and select 'Cell Height and Width...' from the 'Table' menu. Click the 'Column' tab, make the desired changes, and click 'OK'.
1) Select the column or columns for which to change the width.
2) Select the 'Table' menu and select 'Cell Height and Width...'. (The 'Cell Height and Width' dialog box appears.)
3) Click 'Column' tab.
4) (Optional) Click 'Previous Column' to select the previous column, or click 'Next Column' to select the next column.
5) Do one of the following:
a) Click 'AutoFit...', to have Word select a 'best fit' column width.
b) Type a column width:
1] Type the desired column width in the 'Width of Column <#>' box (where <#> is the column number or numbers selected).
2] Click 'OK'.
